Has anyone studied any of the language courses alongside their degree?

I see the University of Glasgow offers the option to study a language alongside their degree, for no charge, by either curricular or extra-curricular activity. It'll be by extra-curricular for me, so, I won't receive any credits. This is fine as it's just something I want to learn.

I'm looking at doing Spanish and I wondered if any other students had had experience of studying these courses alongside their degree? I'm purely curious and just looking for people's feedback.
