Will anything mentioned in your reference your teacher gave be mentioned in the interview for you to explain? Or do they focus on academia and your personal statement? xx

They did in mine, but I don't think it's necessarily the norm (I'd previously dropped out of another university, and had mentioned it briefly in my PS but it was explained more in my reference, so they just wanted me to talk through the reasons for that a little bit to make sure they understood correctly). The interviews are a chance to clear up any confusion, but the main purpose is definitely how you respond to academic discussion/unseen problems (depending on your subject), so I doubt they'd spend too much time dwelling on something random mentioned in your reference - it was no more than 5 minutes at the start of one of my interviews in my case, definitely not the main focus!
