Hi everyone!
Im really confused about the grading for my course which is a level 3 extended diploma of applied science.
We have only done 13 units all together, but others at other colleges ahve done 19-20? Everyone in my class has done 13 so I don’t understand how we will be marked with the normal extended diploma grading. Any help! ?

If you are doing 13 units, this must be the new 2016 spec which includes 4 exams. Some centres are still doing the old 2010 spec with no exams( mostly colleges as it doesn't count towards measures for schools) and this is 19 units totalling 180 credits ([email protected] and 2 @5 credits).

It's normal. Some extended diplomas are 13 units for the 2016+ spec.

Also, other colleges are unlikely to have done 20 units, since most extended diplomas have 18 units.

Anyway, it's all about how many credits you get overall so if some units are heavier in credit, not as many are needed.

But if you're doing a 13 unit BTEC you'll most likely gonna have to sit exams too.
