Hey, I was wondering if anyone here had any experiences / opinions / thoughts on the maths bsc at Nottingham, or just the uni in general? Also, what is Nottingham like as a city? Thanks

The department has an unhealthy obsession with Mathematical Medicine and Biology, and completely neglects purists.

To reply to the poster above, a lot of researchers at Notts specialise in MMB, however, MMB is a single third-year optional module that you are in no way required to take, and have the option of many other "pure" modules instead. Source: mathematics graduate from UoN 2021.

To reply to the OP, most of the lecturers are good at what they do (with the exception of some statistics lecturers..) and the campus itself is wonderful and has an abundance of green space and nature reserves. The city isn't too bad either, lots of transport options and a good nightlife.
