I did not do particularly well on my UCAT last year, but still managed to get a place at medical school. I am going to redo my UCAT this year to see if I get a better grade - this may give me a chance to reapply to my dream medical school that I did not get into last year. Even if I mess up my UCAT exam this year, will it have any affect on my current medical place?

If you have a place in medical school, take it and don’t look back. This is a waste of money and time.

Taking the UCAT will not affect anything, but are you really going to give up a guaranteed place to take the massive risk of reapplying? Even if you get the required UCAT, there is still no guarantee of a place, and then what would you do?

As others above me have said, do not reject the place you already have just to reapply in hopes of getting into your dream university as that is not guaranteed!
