I understand this feeling as I've recently started my second job but it's a very different environment to McDonalds. It is very unfair for them to magically expect you to know exactly what to do so my best advice would be, unless someone tells you what to do straight off the bat, to ask whoever is in charge what they want you to do for that shift. It's normal to feel nervous and confused if no-one has told you what to do, the being confused you can solve through asking. As I said earlier they can't expect you to know exactly what to do after only one shift. With the feeling nervous I just think it shows that you care which is always a good thing in the world of work. I'd say that after a few more shifts you'll get used to it and you'll feel completely normal going to work.

Hope this helps and best of luck at your new job!

Hey Anon! Not sure what time you start at today but good luck for day 2! If I were you I'd go in your uniform and let the team know you're there. Someone will give you an overview of what you'll be doing today, your manager should keep you right! You're definitely not supposed to know everything you're doing and everywhere you're meant to be just now so I assume someone will be aware you're on today and will keep an eye out for you.

Totally understand the nerves just now but this time next week you'll feel much more at ease with it. Every day's a learning day :^_^:

Good luck!
