I’ve heard a bit about changes to medical training programmes for some specialities (from 2022?). I’ve had google but couldn’t really find what I was looking for.

Basically I was wondering if someone could explain in simple terms what the changes will mean to rotas and which specialities will be affected?

From what I understand it means certain specialities will end up with more years on the general medicine rota so longer working as a medreg?

Hope my question makes sense!

Most specialties will remain the same, e.g. dermatology will remain outside of gen med; cardiology will continue to do gen med. But a few e.g. neurology will have to do it from 2022, you are right.
