I've been eyeing software engineering with a year in industry at Leicester and I haven't seen anything that lets me know how and with what I would be assessed. Can anyone who does computer science let me know if the assessment mode is mostly written examinations or coursework? And also if its more theory or practice based?

It varies a lot is. It mainly depends on which modules you do. It does usually say on the individual module page. There are often coursework, class tests, exams.
