What are peoples' plans for accommodation, in terms of what things to buy for university? I don't want to arrive and ending up with everyone having 5 saucepans, but I also don't know any people going to the university I'm going to

The university should tell you what to bring once you're fully enrolled with them

Hi

I was having the same thoughts when i first moved into halls. Everyone in my halls bought their own equipment such as frying pans, pots, plates and washing up liquid etc. However, i would maybe suggest waiting until you are down there and making sure there is no equipment already provided before you go out and buy your own stuff. Or it may be the case that your flatmates agree to share some things, however, if you are in a flat of 6+ with people cooking around the same time then it may be best to have your own stuff anyway.
