Would student finance fund me on my placement year if I have transferred courses?

Hi
I first started doing maths but then I dropped out in the first year (2019) and transferred to engineering for the next year (2020) so I was essentially a year behind.
I have finished my first year of uni and I want to do a placement year but I don't know if student finance will fund that year

So can anyone tell me whether they will fund me or not?
If not how do I pay for that placement year if I do it?

Thank you

Hi, as long as you only have 1 year of previous study then you should be fully funded for your new 4 year course.
Thanks, Isaac

Thank you for the reply
When you mean by "1 year of previous study" do you mean as in only doing 1 year of maths before transferring to engineering?

You said you dropped out in your first year so if that was the only study you have started then that year is classed as 1 year of previous study.

Thanks, Isaac
