Indecisive - Change course, change Uni or change both course and Uni?

Hi,

So I've completed my first year in psychology, however I didn't enjoy the year at all, both in terms of academics as well as general social life. So I decided to transfer University and apply for 2nd year psychology. However, now I'm not sure whether I should also change the course because I think I really enjoy the philosophy and theology degree, for which I'm also eligible and they are available on clearing, as I've checked.

The problem is that I'm a very indecisive person and I don't exactly know what I want, and I'm never sure of my decisions and can often change my mind. So in this scenario, what do you think would be the best thing to do?

Should I just complete the current degree at my current Uni, should I transfer Uni with the same course, or change both course and Uni?

Keeping in mind, I am eligible for the courses that I'm looking at, so there should be no problem in that.

What do you want to do after uni? That'll probably be the biggest decider of whether to change course or not, as they're two quite different degrees you're choosing between.

What don't you like about the social life? I feel like it's not been a good year for that at any uni, so it may not necessarily be worth uprooting yourself and having to settle in all over again at another uni unless there's something specific causing problems at your current uni. You can always get to know more people next year and in third year, friendships aren't fixed in first year

That's what I'm not sure about. Currently I just have the broad idea of wanting to go into professions like teaching, journalism, research, so more like the public sector stuff, that include working with people, using extensive intellectual reasoning, etc. But I don't know which specific career is that I want. The choice of the two degrees is currently based on my interest, because I really enjoy studying them, but yeah.

I just haven't settled in my current Uni as well, and I don't think the environment is really cut-out for me pretty much, and as a consequence I've been mostly living back home anyway.

Philosophy? Pointless degree. Where are you studying now? Transferring could be difficult now, ask the universities.
