Do you think I should include Covid in my personal statement fr biomedical sciences or will it be overdone this year?

Depends on exactly how you plan on mentioning it. If you want to discuss something specific about it that is interesting (e.g. development of mRNA vaccines and applications to other diseases, limitations of some testing types and scientific reasons behind this) then sure. If you're just going to write something like "I want to study BMS because of covid" then I don't think that will add much. Also I think the spike protein will probably be overdiscussed and may be more of a biochemistry issue anyway, personally...
