Compulsive liar
I'm a compulsive liar, and have a large need to please authority figures, which is a large issue for me. Whilst I am working on this in therapy, it still gets to the point where I reflexively and without thinking tell multiple lies to authority figures such as teachers, lecturers, parental figures to get them to see well of me. I don't lie because I want things other than to be seen well of.
This has come to a head where I did not complete assignments because I was badly ill and for some reason I told my tutor I did them. Now its the summer and she has seen I didn't actually complete the work as my special consideration have come through and been accepted and I'm doing 5 essays in less than a month.
She now wants a meeting with me to talk about this and what I'm doing for them.
Should I own up about being a compulsive liar? Or should I just avoid the topic of me lying entirely if possible?
