I found a healthcare assistant job, bank (band 2) which is flexible, working as and when. If anyone has worked in nhs as HCA in bank (as and when) how many shifts per week would you usually get?

Depends on what staffing is like at that hospital, and what other commitments you have.
Personally, I frequently could have worked 7 days a week if I wanted to, with shifts ranging from 3-4 hours in outpatients to 7 hours on a ward to 13 hour full days/12 hour nights on wards. I often did anything from 1 shift to 40 hours depending on what else I was doing.

OK, thank you for this! So just to clarify, (most likely) there is always going to be something available?
