Hi guys,
I've transferred to NewUni and was wondering if any students know how I go about getting registered for things like campus cards/student emails/timetables etc etc?
Thanks,
Matt.

Hi, I transferred to Newcastle University in my second year and completed the rest of my degree there. It may vary by department, but I got this information from my school (English). Essentially what happened if I remember correctly (and you'll have to excuse me a bit because I've just graduated so this was a bit of a while ago for me) is that things like cards and timetables were arranged when I arrived for induction because I had to fill in my module choices in person, so then the timetable came after that. I think though I registered online before arrival and may have got my student email then as well, I can't quite remember. But I think the best plan of action is to keep in touch with your respective department and find out what their processes and procedures are for this. Best of luck with everything and I'm sure you'll have a great time at Newcastle - and feel free to PM me if you have any further questions!

Hi there, you can find information on how to register here - https://www.ncl.ac.uk/student-progress/registration/. For smartcards, you will need to upload a picture onto the University official app and then it can be printed, more information here - https://www.ncl.ac.uk/pre-arrival/wh...eregistration/.

We look forward to welcoming you in September!

Best wishes

Hi,
Thanks for the links. As I am transferring I am worried that I will have been missed, as I received my offer in June and have not had any sort of contact at all from the uni since, and if it wasn't for your response, wouldn't have done until September. Is there something more substantial regarding what I should be doing and what's going to happen (a step-by-step guide for example?).
Thanks.

Hello,

That's not a problem and hopefully the university will be in touch soon with registration details and Fresher's week. You can find a lot of information on what you should do pre-arrival here - https://www.ncl.ac.uk/pre-arrival/beforeyouarrive/.

If you haven't applied for accommodation then please check out this link here - https://www.ncl.ac.uk/accommodation/new-students/apply/

Happy to help with any further questions!

Hi,
Will I be contacted by the university before start regarding email and timetables (for example) as the links you kindly sent didn't result to much (unless I missed something)?
Thanks.

The University should be in touch in September with regards to timetables and all other information. Unfortunately I do not have the exact dates when these details will be sent out! If you would like more information from the school you will be studying at, you can email us here - [email protected] and we can forward this onto the relevant people!
If I recall correctly, I got my Freshers timetable (a long time ago) about 1 week prior to Freshers week but this was all before COVID. Any worries, please email us and we will try our best to help.

Best wishes!
