We've been focusing on the negative parts of TSR a lot recently. So, for a change, what do you like about TSR?

There are some great people on here and it’s nice seeing more knowledgeable users help others in their time of need.

Both of you are quoting the new purpose of this site - without even realising it. The CT will be thrilled!

Unfortunately, this obsession with 'nice' and 'safe supportive space' has driven away an awful lot of people who actually had some knowledge or experience which they could share (sometime share in a less than textbook 'supportive' way), and has reduced the actual value of the site. It might all be butterflies and rainbows now in TSR land, but it's become a rather silly, lightweight site that is very much a shadow of its former self.

I'm pleased for you that you like the new site.

Over the years I've seen the passing of generations. Some kids on here weren't even born when I first joined TSR, yet now they're getting their GCSE results.

It's fascinating. It's like watching evolution.

My daughter too. She was born a year after I joined TSR. Now she's awaiting her GCSEs.

My kids refuse to join TSR though.

I feel like I've come full circle as I'm starting a new degree course myself in September.

I've gone from student, to parent of students, to student again.

Maybe I'll still be here when I'm 65 as grandparent of students!

Poss just me being naive but this may be one of the few corners of the Internet where a cuddly toy penguin can have various blogs over a span of nearly-1.5 years and attract very little trolling :king1:

Sad as it sounds, the fact that I can just refresh the latest posts page and find people who I'm actually capable of helping is really fun for me, I'm not used to being useful Also the fact that most of my random knowledge is about A levels and UCAS, and there aren't many other places online where you can just talk about them all day as a 20 year old and not get judged!

same

I like being part of the "helper" team/volunteer team (even though I don't officially "volunteer" for TSR).
