Is this fat? I put myself into a bmi calculator and it says I’m JUST overweight. I’m so slim on my top half but my thighs and that kind of area gain weight. :/

Given your height, it's overweight yes. However if you are going to the gym and doing strength training or something then ignore the BMI because it won't account for all that muscle mass.

Yes I do go to the gym and recently started weight training, but have only gained weigt

Muscle weighs heavier than fat. If you've just started out, yeah it's to be expected you will start to weigh more.

the reason why the scale is showing more is because of the muscle mass muscle weighs more than fat
