How long did it take for people to get acknowledgements? And do they give acknowledgements to everyone or is it just random/depending on the department?

And to EilidhM and Oxy: did you guys get the letter with your acknowledgment or afterwards?

Not everyone gets an acknowledgement, I didn't but I got an offer. :smile:

I got an acknowledgement by email a day after I sent away my UCAS form. It might be specific to departments, though.

I got an acknowledgement from the Geography department a few days after my application. I think it will almost definitely vary within the uni.

Yup! To be honest, I'm crapping myself XD I know it's so competitive, especially for St. Andrews and Edinburgh :eek4:

It was part of the acknowledgment letter and it came with information about visiting the university and scholarships but I think that it just depends on the department :smile:

Depending on your 2 extra highers and the 2 advanced highers I think you will be OK. How is your PS?

Doing Higher Chemistry and Psychology, Advanced English and Biology.

I'd like to think my PS was pretty good :erm:

English is one of my strong points, so I didn't find it too hard to write, and I got it checked by the PS helpers here, as well as some teachers/friends at school.

I went to the open day on the 29th of Oct, was awesome cant wait to use labs in the new medicine building!

I got an acknowledgment email from them then sometime later (after i went to open day i think) i got another letter about my app, and said they probably wont send out offers till after Jan 15th but said they had reviewed my application.
