Ahh, I'm leaning towards Sallies :awesome: I want that spirit!

Haha, yeah it was soo nice!
Oooh, does it look good? Cos my dad was a bit like 'Why aren't we going to other talks?'
But as I'm undecided as to what other subjects to do I avoided any extra sitting and listening...

Yes! It seemed so magical at Sallies!

Yeah it looks great - I was much more excited about it afterwards than before. The first year is basically spent doing the basics of the mediaeval world in Europe (first semester) and Asia (second semester). The lectures that are available also looked pretty good...

Ah, there's so much choice! Like you I am pretty undecided still...

I'm going self-catered en-suite baby! The flats sound like great too me and hopefully they put me in DRA  though i didnt indicate is specifically wanted that hall. Maybe i should of! I also visited University hall. That was pretty nice too.

Same, haven't submitted form yet, though.

I know it sounds a bit stupid and childish but I really like the community spirit that is shown in those Harry Potter movies :P
Its great to have the feeling that you are a part of a community

Completely agree!

Haha nothing yet. I think news will come on March 31st. I hope I get an offer, just for the glee of putting it as my insurance behind St. Andrews.

That would be purely for ***** and giggles, it will be a higher offer.

Ah I wanna put St Andrews as my firm but I still have to wait for my possible insurance choice! They are taking ages to reply :frown:
Booo to that :frown:

I did my firming and insurancing (?) last Monday, it felt soo good
Rejected for English :frown: they take six months to reply and now this? Grr.
Well, Cambridge, Durham or Newcastle now, not bad
Grr, I even spent loads on going to an open day last April and loved it. And got excellent grades and everything. Grr indeed.
Congratulations everyone who got offers

My commiserations! Are you firming cambridge?
That's a shame :frown:
Thats the fourth rejection for English that's appeared on here recently!

But go you for the rest ay  (meaning Cam, Durham etc = no mean feat there !)

Thank you, yes I am, and then figuring out what to do about insurance. I'm going to wait a bit before making my decisions though.

Thanks! Grr, I AM upset, I love the place to bits, but oh well, I was planning to change my degree to English and French as well which would mean I have to do 5 years of university instead of the usual four with year abroad (St A's is the only Scottish uni that has an extra year shoved in the middle for the year abroad, it appears!). So I suppose this way I get out of uni at 21/22 rather than 23
Trying to stay positive
I'll never get to meet the lovely people on this forum now

Ah, I'd be gutted too, cos it is lovely :frown::
But at least it wasn't the only one, and yes! Early leaving for you, is Cam as flexible with changing to French and English as St A's would have been?

Ahh, yes, you miss out on us beauts :frown::

I can either stay in English and do the papers on French literature which come complete with French lessons while improving my French at the language centre, or switch half through the course, or ask to switch when I get there. I'll work it out during the summer lol...recently I've been really wanting to do Modern Languages either as well as English or instead of. Long story. Anyway, I won't bore you

Has Durham given you a lower offer than Cambridge? I thought they are both giving out AAA offers for English as theyare said to be the best in English

Yeah, both are AAA, but Durham is for Combined Honours in Arts. I'd be stupid to put AAA unis as both my firm and insurance, but I love Durham...

Yeah Ive seen some photos and they look pretty luxurious  but alot some people said that the community felling that Im especially searching for isnt that strong as in the catered halls.

Yeah i've heard that too, but i dont mind just means you have to try a bit harder. Plus your guaranteed to become best mates with your other 4/5 flat mates! I might come bug other halls anyway its all good!
