I think its just a formality that they wait until the 15th. Some departments may already have a shortlist

I got an email from the Comp Sci department saying "you should shortly receive a formal response to your application through the UCAS system. It is our intention that this response will be positive." on Jan 6 and then didn't hear anything until UCAS told me I had an offer on Jan 15th (ie yesterday)
Anyone had an offer for Physics at St. Andrews yet?
I hate waiting D:!

No, mate. Nothing yet. I'm due to go up for an open day in Feb, and the officer from the School of Biology has asked to see me then. I really hope they don't wait until afterwards!

Be sure to tell me if anything happens with yours.

Oh, and dyslexia is a sham anyway, haven't you heard?
Has anybody heard anything from the Psychology department?
Rejected for BSc Economics (L102)
It seems St. Andrews is moving up to strictly AAA(a?)-offers regarding economics.

Reasoning:

"Unfortunately you were in competition with stronger
applicants. Applications to the University have increased
dramatically in recent years in line with our league table
rankings. Our asking rates are high, but every year the
proportion of applicants already holding, or predicted to
obtain grades higher than our asking rates increases. As a
result this means some highly qualified candidates have not
been offered admission to the University as we simply do not"
have enough places.

Do you reckon that it would help to go up and visit because i have back last february?
I think I might go and visit the university again, actually. Last time I went it was the first time I'd ever been to St Andrews and I was so bowled over by the place that I didn't look properly. They're doing a new set of Wednesday visit days pretty soon.

Of course, this all depends on whether I get an offer from them :p: It's good that they've started to give out offers - although, considering what I've heard from here, they don't give out offers for English for absolutely ages.

I've been really looking forward to going to St. Andrew's.
Oh Well, what to do..

No worries.
I still got the unconditional, as you said

Good luck with your offers (even though you haven't applied to StA). All the best!

Fingers crossed for you!

And for some people, I know two people at St Andrews, one doing history, and another doing psycology, both of them had to wait until late Feb/March, so no news may be good news
