I graduted with an economics degree where i learnt a lot of maths and stats but i also used a software package called stata. Its only really useful if you plan to have a career in economics. I now work in a stats role but ive never had any coding experience. How can i learn to code and which programming languages should i learn first? My job involves data cleaning, automation of work and data visualisation so i dont think AI / ML software is for me.
Maybe R or Sql would be a good start?

This website is very good ... https://www.itjobswatch.co.uk

It shows which skills are in demand and which are trending etc.

For example scroll down on this to see the graphs ...

As for how to learn there are loads of resources online - web sites, YouTube videos, learning sites - some are free and some cost money.

Also evening classes or if you're at school or uni you might be able to learn there for free as well.
