How hard is the maths in A level physics compared to the maths in GCSE math

Not a lot harder at all tbh. Mostly it’s just about getting your significant figures right and being careful with units.
Everything else is just basic arithmetic and you get a calculator.

at physics alevel it's more the theory and understanding of the formulas that is difficult rather than the maths itself. the actual maths isn't too far from gcse so you will be absolutely fine. i personally found that doing alevel maths did help out in some places, but don't panic if you're not doing it
