After accommodation has been paid wondering realistically how much money will I need a wk/month to live on?
Applying to Surrey, Liverpool, both Manchesters and 2 in London.
Hoping to get full maintenance loan but wondering if that will be enough to live on once I've paid my rent.
Also after rent what other bills/outgoings should I expect for a student studying acting?

Hi!
This really depends on a lot of different factors such as how much you want to socialise, how much you eat, what sort of things you eat, etc. I have linked some websites for you below that outline the average living costs in each of the places you have mentioned above. You can use this to give you a guide on how much or little you think you will spend. The number will be different for everyone as it is often down to personal preferences but these websites should be useful in guiding you in the right direction.
Surrey: https://www.surrey.ac.uk/fees-and-fu...oney/budgeting
Liverpool: https://www.liverpool.ac.uk/study/in.../living-costs/
Manchester: https://www.manchester.ac.uk/study/e.../living-costs/
London: https://www.lse.ac.uk/student-life/L...on-on-a-budget
Hope this helps!

I'm studying at UCL this year for Media (so arts area subject too!) and tbh I think by setting yourself a clear budget it will work. I grew up in London so I'm living at home where I don't really need to worry about rent & bills (even though I'm still getting a maintenance loan) but this is how I would go about it:

VERY IMPORTANT - this is where most of your money should go
- Rent (£x)
- Bills (£x)

SLIGHTLY IMPORTANT - this is where money will also go but if you can learn your city/area, you will know where these things lie cheaply
- Travel (£x)
- Food & Drink (£x)

NOT VERY IMPORTANT - this is where your money can go if you want but these aren't really important
- Events/Societies (£x)
- Clothing (£x)
- Study Equipment (£x)
- Socialising (£x)

If you can, find a part-time job whether outside uni or in your uni to support the 'not very important' stuff like events, clothes, etc. so you won't waste your maintenance loan. I'm looking to get a part-time job at my student's union this year as finding a job in London rn is really hard!
