I can get the things that I want, I can pass job interviews and before I got bored of it I worked in customer services with out any issues.
However I can't small talk, when I attempt it, it lacks fluency. To try to compensate with this I will smile and nod at appropriate intervals, obviously this doesn't really cut it.

Does anyone have any advice/ experience with learning to small talk?

- Eye contact; look interested even if you aren't

- 'Yes'/'Oh wow'; sentence fillers when others are talking will make them feel like you are engaging beyond smiling and nodding

- Tone; check your tone, sometimes it isn't about how fluent or put together you sound, you might actually be overthinking your tone - don't sound monotone, sound eager

- When you are starting the small talk, ask questions even if you know the answer; it always leads to something even more interested

Hope this helps
