Why do we always plan for the future when we we could die whenever?

Because if you don't die anytime soon you need to book in advance to have someone wipe your backside.

Because most rationale people dont want to run with the assumption theyll kick off tomorrow so **** everything...
Because you could also not die whenever... and if you're a pretty young person then this is the more likely scenario

What's the alternative? Do nothing for the rest of your life?

I hope to be around for at least several more decades, so I might as well do something that will put in me in a better position in the future than I am today. Then there are those who will come after me to consider, children, grandchildren, or if not my own, the children of my family and friends and future generations as a whole. I'd like to in some small way leave the world they will occupy in slightly better shape than it was when I was alive, and that can only happen if I live as good and productive a life as I can while I'm here, not just slide into destructive, nihilistic decadence, because, "**** it, I'm gonna die anyway".
