I feel like there's more cons like you have to pay more for public transport whereas the 16+ zipcard makes the bus free and trains 50% off the adult price?

It is definitely worse. You need to pay for everything when u are older, parents/society expect you to get a job and your parents treat you differently too.

I'm turning 17 but a few of my friends are 18 and yh I can tell from what you said that it's true
