I haven't made the jump yet but advice from people who have would be great, especially when it comes to gaming.

I noticed some differences between HD and 4K. I have an HD tv in my bedroom and my parents have a 4K tv in the tv room. I think things look like they run smoother and are a little sharper. I wouldn't upgrade until I needed a new tv, though.

It depends on how close/far you sit from the display and how large the display is.
