Gf told one of my friends we broke up

Basically one of my friends is autistic and has severe depression. He started to like my gf a while back and she rejected him because she was with me but we felt sorry for him because he didnt really understand why. Fast forward to today she told me she told him we broke up because he was feeling really depressed about being rejected by her. I felt a bit pd off because why would she tell him that she could have just tried to comfort him in a different way but at the same time im conflicted with that because apparantly her telling him that made him feel happier. Then when i told gf i was a bit annoyed she said i was being selfish and egotistic because "only i can have her" or along that lines. AITA for being annoyed told him we broke up or not
