do DSA cover travel costs such as a bus pass?

I was wondering if DSA covers the cost for students for travel like a bus pass. I have mobility issues and I am going to need a bus to get to campus next year from my house so I was wondering if they help towards the cost or not

I don't know the answer to your specific question but have you done your DSA needs assessment interview? They discuss your needs with you and offer what they believe to be necessary based on your handicap, so maybe there is a possibility of help with transport.

Hey, Apply for DSA if you haven't already (they'll need medical evidence in the form of a letter from your doctor confirming your mobility issues and/or a completed assessment for your condition) and once you get a confirmation through that you need to set up a needs assessment, arrange one (based on the list they'll provide to you on their website) - this may take a few weeks overall.

During the assessment they'll ask you questions on how your mobility issues impact your day to day living, your studies and your emotional wellbeing. They'll suggest a few options on how to ease things for you (like on site accommodation close to where you'll be studying, ramp access, living in halls in a room ideally on the ground floor etc.), they'll also discuss if you'll need any software or specialised helpers for your studies (Like Dragon- which is talk to text software for if you can't write for long periods of time).
As for travelling they can offer a set amount of travel money in some cases that I know of to assist in getting to shops/campus/wherever, but this may be on a reimbursement basis - you pay for the cost, keep a record of it, send the receipt/cost of the ticket to them and they'll pay you back.

This can differ between needs assessors and ultimately it's up to SFE on what gets approved, but I hope everything gets sorted

Thank you! I am actually going into my second year so I applied for DSA next year which I should have made clear hahah. I will probably email my assessor from last year as my needs have changed this year especially because things are going back to normal so I actually need to travel to my lectures
