Anyone applying as an undergraduate ?

Me. Well, I am doing an undergraduate master's. I guess I'm somewhere in between both worlds.

Successfully longlisted yaay! :h: Can anyone remind me was it the top 2/3 or 1/3 of applicants that usually get through longlisting?? I'm guessing we'll only find out our score after the whole application cycle. I guess now we just need to sit and wait until the shortlisting is completed end of April

Anyone else for scientific computing? Shame there's not more than one post per location for the same specialism

Congrats.. yes top 2/3 were supposed to be longlisted.. bottom 1/3 should've been unsuccessful.. not sure what the threshold score was.. what if everyone got above that threshold? Would that mean everyone got longlisted..? 😂

I mean that would defeat the purpose of the SJT  idk maybe they score everyone then pick a threshold so the bottom 1/3 doesn't get through...

So it could be more like a percentile than a percentage.. hmm that would make sense..

Successfully longlisted too! Could somebody please tell me what happens next? I know I have made it to the longlist, but what happens now?

On a different note, is interested in making a group chat for the 2022 stp applicants? I thought maybe this could be a fun/useful thing to do?

I think they've been split into undefined and the individual specialisms so it looks like there's fewer medical physics. I've applied for radiation protection and diagnostic radiology which is a medical physics specialism

does anyone know if it's possible to add anything or change your essay at this point?

Yeah I think if you add up all the posts from all specialisms it's actually more this year  I've only applied for the undefined posts though as none of the specialism ones have posts in London  and idk which one I would choose tbf ahah.

2 months to wait for shortlisting results sounds like a long time but if you think about it there's roughly 5k applicants that got through longlisting (they tweeted the total amount was over 7.5k and longlisting I hear filters out the top 2/3). And we only have a few hundred places so it's not going to be an easy task at all. At least the SJT was less drama than last year

Do we just have to sit and wait now? or is there something that has to be done before shortlisting begins?
