Hi, congrats! I also got through to interview for cardiac science! Haven’t received a rank yet but I assume that will come after we choose our preferences. Where are you hoping to go?

Hey I am quite disappointed because I got a rejection for cardiac science. Would you mind telling me about your background please, and the experience you had.

Did anyone on here get an interview on here for genomic counselling? I'm on reserve list but this is my second year applying and I got reserve last year so I'm out of hope that I'll get through this year and was hoping someone could go through their experience etc with me so I can improve my application next year

For anyone who got an interview for Cardiac science, would you be able to tell me what experience you had and if you did postgrad study beforehand? Did you have cardiac science-related experience? What scientific skills did you have?

It would be great for me too to also hear from someone that was successful at securing an interview for genomic counselling as I didn't get shortlisted and this is my first year applying. What is your experience out of interest Maddie?

Hey, I just got rejected. Would you have any advice on making the application strong and what experience did you have?

If you want to send me your application then I can give some feedback?

Reply 590

how can people have have an interview if no one has selected their location preference yet? What is the person with an interview hasn’t ranked first and is only able to work in one location? What happens then?

So I did the PTP course (undergrad) but for respiratory physiology and sleep science and this is my highest level of education. Since then I’ve been a locum band 6 respiratory physiologist for 1.5 years. I’ve had a little experience in cardiology but not much. The STP is VERY competitive. I knew someone who had a PhD and he got rejected 3 times before he ended up getting a place. So I would say stick with it or defo consider the PTP cardiac physiology course which will get you to a bad 5 after 3 years instead of the band 6 for cardiology. Hope that helps!

Hi,
Thank you for getting to me. I would be applying next year with a degree in Biomedical science only, so I don't think I would have a high level of experience that they are looking for.

In the email it says that interview is not a “guarantee of an interview”. I assume this is in cases where you select only a few locations which are taken up by the people ranked above you, and if you select all locations then you’re guaranteed an interview? Someone please correct me if I’m wrong

Reply 597

Sadly I have failed to get an interview this year. I am keen to hear from anyone who has been successful in the Pharmaceutical Sciences stream to see where I could potentially improve.

I got interview for Genomic Counselling, 3rd year applying. Keen to find out the ranks as I can only apply to London placements. I’m an older applicant so have a fair amount of experience
