Hello!
Is anyone interested in renting an Airbnb close to Manchester Metropolitan University throughout October?
I'm doing respiratory & sleep sciences at Norwich & Norfolk hospital. Myself and another new stp trainee are looking for 1 or 2 other trainees looking for an Airbnb. Any speciality/ hospital trust welcome.
Private message if interested. Elisa

I've heard nothing from Birmingham about my offer or pre-employment checks, anyone else having issues?
I've been chasing it up for weeks.

I still haven't heard anything at all from Manchester (withington)! I've tried phoning but can't seem to get through to HR. Did you have any luck in the end?

Hi everyone, I hope your STP journeys are going well!I was wondering if anyone had any general STP application advice, or if anyone who has been successful for genomic counselling could offer advice re their experience and/or what they predominantly spoke about in their applications. Thanks!

Hello! I have applied this year, longlisted again and just waiting for the shortlist review. I may however be taking a different route now so it's a case of waiting to see. I hope that you do well this year, best of luck!

Hi! Is anyone on the clinical scientific computing pathway? I was hoping to ask someone a few questions about what the course is like and how much programming is involved day to day?

Cheers

Hello again, thank you for replying. Since you are quite familiar with the stp, can you help me with this quesion if you dont mind:

Since im an international candidate, i was needed to provide english proficiency proofs so in my application I have checked first 2 boxes i.e:

i. Hold a degree or relevant educational qualification that was taught in English by a recognised institution abroad.

ii. If you have obtained a Skilled Worker visa to apply to the programme, you will have already demonstrated English language skills as part of the visa application process. Evidence of passing the test set by the Home Office should be provided.

iii. If English is not your first language ( YES ITS NOT MY FIRST LANGUAGE) , you will also have to demonstrate to the Higher Education Institution (HEI) the necessary knowledge of English to meet the entry requirements and enrol on the MSc course.

iv. Pass an English proficiency test.

Now can you explain point 3 and 4. I have also uploaded my ielts test in which i scored 7 Bands. I've 7 in listening 7.5 in reading 6.5 in speaking but 6 in writing. Will it be an issue and can cause my applications to get rejected or should i re appear in IELTS and mail them new results?

Thanks!

Wow that is frustrating! And of course you can’t do an in service one? I haven’t enjoyed the recruitment process, I think they have a really small team and thousands of applications so I think that’s why they have this unusual process but I feel like I need an interview for them to actually know who I am outside of a few written things :/

I don't think so, I'm a clinical specialist/case manager in homelessness and inclusion health now in Central London but I don't think my trust offer in service routes. Plus I'm in a different area entirely to before (was an advanced podiatrist before) still registered and consulting on the team I'm on now. I doubt I'll bother applying again, I know people who have PhD's and all sorts and they don't get selected and then there's those who are fresh out of uni with some barely relevant degree who do get places ? I think they're actively ageist if I'm being honest :/
