Thank you

Edinburgh’s website says that we should only expect to hear around March, so I don’t think we need to be worried that we haven’t heard yet. It is a bit of a bore to wait so long, but I think it’s the same for lots of Scottish unis.

Hi!!

What course are you applying for?
BSC Chemistry

What universities have you applied to?
St Andrews, UCL, Nottingham (offer), Kings and Southampton (offer) still yet to hear from the others.
Grades
A-level predicted:
Chemistry - A*
Biology - A*
Geography - A*

GCSES: 999888776

I was prior a Med applicant so I used some of the hospital work experience and linked it into Chemistry, Newham college essays, extra readings and my netball as extra-cirriculars.

I’m currently year 12 planning on studying chemistry at university!! Can I ask how you’ve managed to get such high predictions especially for biology im really struggling with A level biology, how did you revise for chemistry & biology : ))

Monday to Friday. Many hours. Remember you will have teaching labs in first and second year.
First year it's about 3 hours of labs every week.
Second year it steps up to 6 ish hours of labs.
Usually each semester you have 4 modules and 2 hours of lectures per week for each module and then additionally 3 tutorials or workshops spread over 2 weeks

Check out a typical timetable by asking at an open day.

If you're wondering about commuting or having a job alongside a chemistry degree, please don't do it! You probably only have time for a very flexible student job but in my experience, chemistry is a very demanding work-study-heavy degree. You will find it very hard commuting in for many 9am starts and you will have a tough time finishing your work if you get a proper job alongside your studies!

Hi, thank you for the info, won't it be possible to have a part time job for like 2days a week about 15 to 20 hours?

I would highly not recommend it unless it's at the University as a Student Union job
You have a high workload doing chemistry and so I would really only say you can do it in your first year when you only need to pass.
It's not going to be an option going forward because the workload really steps up year 2 onwards

Hi, I've been rejected from all my med schools who I applied to this year, and am interested in Chemistry as well, so it would be great to hear your thought process on why you decided to change and apply to a Chemistry degree?
