So I I am starting a job in nursery next week and it is a recruitment agency. They said I am getting paid £6 an hour btw I’m 19. Also I worked for a different agency recruitment but they are paying me £9 per hour but it’s further so that’s the reason I choose different agency that is nearer to
Me. Why are they paying so low I didn’t want to say anything cuz I really needed a job.
What do I do or is this a minimum wage.

The minimum wage per hour for your age is £6.56, it is illegal for the employment agency to pay you less than this.

This article outlines the steps you should take if you are being paid less than the minimum wage: https://www.acas.org.uk/national-min...g-minimum-wage

Personally I would have a chat with the agency to determine if they have made a mistake. If they haven't made a mistake it's probably time to find a new agency. I assume that you haven't actually started working at the nursery yet.
