Why does UK not offer the Novavax vaccine in 2022?

Japan has secured 150 million doses of the vaccine developed by Novavax Inc. starting in early 2022.
The Atlantic also reported that Novavax is the best vaccine for COVID-19
Maybe the NHS will offer it as an option for UK residents in 2022.
The Novavax vaccine is currently being assessed by the UK's Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and is subject to an European Medical Agency (EMA) rolling review.

Hopefully 🤞
Novavax originally said they expected approval in weeks back in February, then they said May, then they said Q3, now they are saying approval Q4.

It might be an excellent vaccine but until they have the data to satisfy the MHRA it’s not much use, and given how unreliable they have been at getting it approved so far, it makes more sense to plan with the current effective vaccines with proven supply. The UK has a huge order but we’ll have to see if & when it arrives.
