Eiffel 2021 we saw the first images of the film with Romain Duris and Emma Mackey

Scheduled for February 17, 2021, "Eiffel" will focus on the construction of the famous tower by Gustave Eiffel and his adulterous relationship with Adrienne Bourgès. We were able to discover many images of Martin Bourboulon's film which promises to be impressive.

Eiffel , a highly anticipated biopic for 2021
On the occasion of a presentation of its end-of-year and 2021 line-up, Pathé allowed us to see many images of Eiffel , the next film by Martin Bourboulon ( Papa or mum ), dedicated to the construction of the famous tower by Gustave Eiffel . A particularly anticipated film which benefits from a large budget (we are talking about more than 20 million euros ) and two great headliners with Romain Duris and rising star Emma Mackey . Scheduled for February 17, 2021 , the film will therefore follow Gustave Eiffel some time after working on the Statue of Liberty. Particularly in demand at the end of the 19th century, he initially refused to embark on the development of a tower, which he thought would be dismantled after about twenty days. Instead, he is interested in a metro project. But it is by recrossing an old love , Adrienne Bourgès (Emma Mackey) that he will change his mind. As if to impress him, or simply go in his direction, he announces during a social meal, the construction of a tower, 300 meters high, in iron, and in the middle of Paris to allow everyone to admire it. , rich and poor alike.

What we saw from the film
The images we have seen show Martin Bourboulon's ambition. Visually, the film is impressive in its reproduction of the period sets and costumes, and obviously the construction of the tower. But above all, where the director could get out of the game, it is in the alternation between the historical part and the dramatic part. The emphasis is clearly on the relationship between Gustave Eiffel and Adrienne Bourgès . We find here a classic love story impossible , but particularly well worn by Romain Duris and Emma Mackey. We were able to see in particular in their first meeting the disturbance which is created between them. And next, the historical part, therefore, on the construction of the Eiffel Tower, should offer real scenes of tension . Like a sequence where the workers are caught in a flood that Eiffel tries to manage as best he can without sacrificing his employees. Finally, we will see the pressure put on him by public opinion and the press which ceases to support him. A set that should allow Eiffel to be the great French film of 2021 . At least, from what we've seen, it's off to a good start ...

Eiffel will be released in theaters on February 17, 2021 , a trailer should soon be unveiled.
