What was the interview like? I am so nervous about it!!
Hey!
Out of all the interviews I did, I enjoyed Plymouth’s the most! It was tough at times but the interviewers were lovely and patient! I can’t give specific details but I would definitely research about what a PA is all about, the university and attributes/qualities of a PA!
Don’t be nervous either! The fact that you got an interview shows that the uni is interested in you so that should be a confident boost — so find time to relax before your interview and be yourself! You got this and good luck! 🙏
Hey guys, I’m starting in January 2022 and would love to get to know others starting the same time as me I’m also looking to find a suitable accommodation next to uni.. if anyone knows what areas are close to uni (20mins walking distance)

Hey, Also starting in Jan 😀 Would be really nice to get to know others. There is also someone else I’ve been speaking to who is also doing the course maybe we could get a Group chat going. I’ve had a look at some accommodations PM I’ll send you some info.

A group chat sounds great! I tried looking up Plymouth PA group chats on fb but I couldn’t find anything we could make one and let people know about it here?
I have my interview tomorrow. Plymouth is my first choice. 24 years old looking for a house share and fellow PA mates to mingle with if I get accepted! HMU!

hi guys congratulations on your applications/interviews etc and starting in Jan 2022. Im currently first year and I am sure stuff will be going face to face but a lot of our clinical skills is at John Bull at Plymouth Science Park and some face to face will be in town in Uni but not many. a lot of people live in town as you get a free bus so may be better 'socially' to live in town! just thought I would let you know!

Hey Luke! To be honest I'd say it went ok. Two panels went pretty great, two were "okay" and one was absolutely disasterous... It was very early in the morning though so I hope they are somewhat lenient there and I made the cut... We'll see. I hear back by next week!

I had my interview this morning too - a bit later at 10.25am though!
I honestly think I did rubbish - for all the questions I went blank and just Um'd & Err'd at them haha.
Hopefully, they will put us out of our misery soon!

How did you get on? I have my fingers crossed for you! I had my rejection letter this morning, unfortunately :-(
I knew my interview was rubbish so I expected it - but still annoying anyway!
I May try next year but will most likely just give up as I believe my age went against me anyway. Younger people are comfortable with online interviews / zoom whereas I just felt awkward and had no idea what I was doing. I know they dont discriminate by age directly but this does put older people at a massive disadvantage unfortunatly and is not taken into account.

Aww Jotenno I'm really sorry to hear that - There must have been some really stiff competition and we've had quite a lot of people applying this year, so don't feel too disheartened A year's a long time and a lot can happen so keep working and definitely apply again, please never give up on your dreams!
I get what you mean about feeling awkward in Zooms though! After a year of the pandemic I'm sure there's resources out there now on virtual interview/zoom meeting techniques - I read something the other day about having your torso in shot so people can see your gestures and body language which is something I'd never considered before - if you have a search let me know if you find anything particularly useful!

Many thanks, Luke - University of Plymouth
Thank you :-)
I have decided to give it one last shot next year and while I am waiting get some work experience, brush up on interview/zoom techniques and do a Level 2 module with the Open University (Investigating human health and disease) - Also looking for an anatomy course online but have had no luck finding one so far.
If I still get rejected I will likely go down the biomedical route (If they don't also reject me haha)
Thank you for the zoom tip - I had not thought of that before!
