Pharmacy at Kingston, Portsmouth, or Hertfordshire?

I’ve received offers for MPharm in Kingston, Portsmouth, and Hertfordshire unis in clearing. Kingston’s guardian rating for the pharmacy course is high (7th) but most opinions on it here are negative, but it’s the closest to my home. The other two have mixed opinions. Which university would be best to go to in this case?

I think you should decide based on the uni and course YOU prefer.

Is being close to home important to you?

Being close to home is important, but not a top priority. I’d rather go to a further university if it’s significantly better. I’m happy with kingston as far as I’m aware but would just like to make sure this’ll be the right choice.

Hi @afadi92

Firstly congratulations on your offer, it's great that you are considering us as one of your choices.

Our Pharmacy course at Portsmouth is really good, we use all industry-standard equipment so that when you go into your placement you'll be happy in knowing how to use it from the get-go.

We have a live Q&A session tonight which might be helpful for you, it starts at half 5 and we have a panel of 5 students answering questions from the audience. I would recommend seeing if the other Universities are also doing something like this so you can gather as much information as you can before making your decision. You can book onto it here, but there is absolutely no pressure for you to attend. I just thought it might be helpful for you.

But ultimately, you need to go where you think you will be happiest. You'll do your best on a course at a University you are happy with and see yourself at for the foreseeable future. I can try to put you in contact with a Pharmacy student here at Portsmouth if you like, but I can't promise it will be in time for you to make your decision. Just let me know.
