Outrageous Staff at St Pancras Station

Don't know why I'm posting this, but it is a copy of a letter I have just sent to the managers of the companies concerned:
I am writing to make a complaint of a most serious nature. This afternoon I was on St Pancras station when I was subject to a most outrageous display of behaviour from a member of you platform security staff. Although I was not able to obtain this gentleman’s, and I use this term loosely, full name his first-name was Wales and his surname began with an A. I was standing at the far end of the platforms but was at all times well clear of both the yellow platform edge line that line beyond which passengers must not cross. As I was in possession of a valid travel ticket I was within my rights to be there and the station was very quiet and there were no passengers or staff working where I was standing. The incident occurred after the departure of a northbound HST, the driver of which smiled and waved so he did not fell that safety of the trains was in anyway compromised by my presence. The member of staff approached me and started shouting and pointing a walky-talkie in a very aggressive manner. He told me that I was not allowed on the platforms unless catching a train and that I should get off the platforms. I asked him to stop pointing at me and informed him that it does not say that anywhere in the National Rail conditions of carriage. He then asked if I was going to go and my reply was ‘not really’. I offered to go an clarify the issue with the stationmaster but he then called another person on his radio. This person, who was very polite and a credit to their uniform informed me that I could stay there.
I am sure that you value customer service very highly at your company and that the conduct of this individual tarnishes the good image that you have achieved.
I thank you for your attention in this mater and look forward to hearing from you in due course.

Are you sure you weren't looking at an "Arriva Trains Wales" badge? Seems strange to hear of someone with a first name "Wales".

What were you doing on the platform, anyway?

Aw, but St. Pancras is so pretty...

I hate rude staff. I complained to TfL about a ticket inspector on a bus. I don't know what I was expecting from it, but they're investigating it and should get back to me in a week's time.

It can cause people not to like you very much, but it is worth complaining if you feel that someone hasn't done their job. It's obvious that this person didn't really know the rules, so if anything, he'll now know.

EDIT: Though, I dunno, is ignorance really that outrageous...?

The nice man at St Pancras changed my ticket for me when I missed my train

But the woman I spoke to before that was really rude

He was a West Indian, from his accent.
I had a few exams today that didn't go too well and looking a trains is mind numbing and I forgot about the exams. I hope he gets assulted by an angry passenger one day....

What do you hope to get from complaining? I wouldn't be surprised if they just disgarded the letter and sent out a standard apology letter.

I'm not sure whether hoping for :secruity: is the healthiest option

Well, it's just information about Mister Pancras.

Shoddy information, mind.

Well, that's all I'm expecting from my complain (which, no offence like, is a little more of a serious matter).

But also if it helps the company realise that their staff don't know what they're doing sometimes, I guess it's a good thing.

It's a freepost, so it costs me nothing. It will cost them money dealing with it. I know of someone who had something similar on Mersyrail and has put them to quite a lot of trouble and cost to deal with him.
