Its very common for top Unis not to accept a BTEC Extended Diploma on its own - often its only accepted with one or even two relevant A levels. Its the same position at Birmingham - https://www.birmingham.ac.uk/undergraduate/courses/biosciences/human-biology.aspx
However, Liverpool will accept just a BTEC - https://www.liverpool.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/courses/anatomy-and-human-biology-bsc-hons/overview/
