In terms of protein bars ASDA do sell some for a quid each which is handy for students. They were alright too not the best however there’s a lot worse out there.

Aldi sell cheap bars but they taste like rotten cardboard.
As above, myprotein for cheap whey. There are always discount codes (typically 35%) knocking about.

Holland and Barrett do quite cheap whey. It is their own brand called "PE Nutrition".

I use PhD diet whey.
It’s not the dead cheapest, and its blend is not 100% whey but I find it’s very good value and quality (imo).
It’s quite cheap from costco.
