Henrietta barnett sixth form

Hi!
I’m deciding on whether or not I should go to hbs and it has to be soon! Can anyone who is already there answer some questions please?
R the people there nice or is it more cliquey
Is there a lot of pressure
What is the overall life like there for sixth form?

Hey, I'm going there too this year for sixth form. I have the same questions too.
i used to go a few yrs ago and wld say i dislike hbs the longer that passes from when i left. when ur in there u don’t realise how sheltered u are, ppl are very much the same type of ppl there. classes are also huge especially if u want to do science

Hey, do you mind if I ask about the people there? Did you take your A levels there?

Sure of course! The people are very nice on the whole it's just that they are all quite similar. So either you gel with that vibe or you really really won't like it. All quite sheltered, lots of female empowerment. However, people pretend to be much kinder than they are when you need notes to catch up from, hw or support, their are LOTS of mental health issues and EDs anorexia, bulimia, anxiety, self harm, depression. In other words, actions speak louder than words. Also is a neeky half of the yr and a "cooler" half - I think that's the case most places though. Lmk if you have other qs

Hey, thanks for your reply! I am moving there from South London to go study at HBS. The people seem quite kind from what you've said. About the mental health issues, would there be any way for me to help them or do they not like socialising with new people? This might seem like a really weird question, sorry. I'm not sure if the environment would suit me because it is an academically challenged place but I will take the risk. I'm just nervous about making friends because all of us are suffering with mental illnesses and it would be nice to have someone to talk to at school; just about school work or maybe other random stuff idk. I've only studied in a private school where it's relatively easier to make friends so the transition to a grammar school like HBS might come as a huge shock for me once I start going there.
