Going to be a nervy match tomorrow morning

Though with everything going on in the other pool, who even knows whether 1st or 2nd would be better? I presume the aim will be avoiding Japan in the semis?

I've not been paying much attention to the other group - only just realised the AUS DEN result :eek2:
Any other location I'd say avoiding australia would be ideal but on home turf and with australia losing to denmark....yes Japan is looking much stronger (and getting through to the final against Japan at home would be amazing!).

To be honest if we could just get a win against the US that would be amazing as they're likely to be in the final so finding some chinks in their armour and showing that they're beatable would be the best outcome
these are the results from the last time GB played the US in Feb 2020

https://www.wrquadnations.com/wheelchair-rugby-quad-nations-2018-results.html
3 losses (55:50 and 65:64 and 53:42 )

Australia are currently ranked #1 in the world though (even though they came 3rd at the quad nations).
I guess the other consideration, and idk which is played when, is getting GB into the later slot for the SFs so I don't have to get up ridiculously early on a Saturday morning to watch!
USA v GB: winner plays Australia, loser plays Japan, let's go!
2 turnovers already whaaaaat amazing stuff from GB
Brilliant start!
second time the commentator on livestream has called it wheelchair basketball :indiff:
13-8 to GB at quarter-time!
Bit tighter now at half-time mind!
I've switched to More4 - better commentary from Stevey B
Oh we're really into squeaky bum time now!

it really is
GB really will be wondering how on earth they managed to lose this match!
yep - but they did show the first chinks in the US armour so far

And we get to play Japan in the semi finals so that's going to be good - while US have to face AUS and Riley Batt
So we now know tomorrow's match schedule:

03:30 BST: 7th/8th playoff, Denmark v New Zealand
06:15 BST: Semi-final, Japan v Great Britain
09:30 BST: Semi-final, United States v Australia
12:00 BST: 5th/6th playoff, France v Canada

It's *far* too early to be awake to watch this!

(But going OK so far, I just won't be getting too confident after yesterday!)
Well at least the gap is getting bigger today at the end of each quarter!
Woohoooo
Well there we go! GB beat Japan 55-49, and will take at least silver tomorrow!
