Biochemistry graduate

What can I do with a biochemistry degree that doesn’t directly involve science eg. working in lab, as researcher etc

I know a chemistry grad who did ab hsbc grad scheme

I’m not a grad I’m in going into y13 planning to do biochemistry (or natural sciences at Cambridge)

So why would you decide to invest time in a scientific field to not even be involved in science. But you can do any job if you have experience and not necessarily the degree. You can do law, banking, teaching, IR, marketing,consulting, with some training contracts but you’d need a good profile. But I don’t understand why you would go for science if you don’t want science, I thought maybe you were a grad who changed her mind.

I enjoy science and would like to be a sort of science ‘expert’ or specialist in one of the fields mentioned

Ermmm you mean like a scientific accountant or? Science is separate, you can’t really represent something like finance. But maybe idk
Work at a pharmaceuticals consultancy- it’s an office based job :smile:

Yeah I’m not sure exactly, maybe science writing, or marketing for a sports company (I’m an elite tennis player) or just using transferable skills to work in a company

The good thing at studying STEM subjects like yourself, is that your really adaptable and transferable so don’t worry just focus on getting a good grade.
