Team USA wheeling in now. Strong volume of numbers here.

Just France and Japan to go.
242 from the USA! looking very smart with blazers
255 athletes set to compete for Japan :gah: and lots of them turn out for the opening ceremony!
What sort of nasty designer decides on blazers for wheelchair users
Representing team GB: 21 Welsh, 33 Scottish, 3 from Northern Ireland (4 from NI competing for ROI this year), and 169 English
(getting mixed numbers of the overall no. of gb athletes from different sources so don't quote me on these :colondollar:)

oh that's a nice touch, essential workers carrying the Paralympic flag
I'm already annoyed by the please stand announcements.
I'm sure at either Rio or London (or both) it was "for those who can, please stand for..." and I'm annoyed that that has been dropped.
Not going to lie, I fully expected this girl flying would be on wires up in the air. Not sat where she's been for the last half hour but this time surrounded by people dressed as birds.

Hmm, I remember my reaction and my family's reaction in 2012 being a bit 'this feels forced, and disabled people attend the Olympic opening ceremony too and they didn't add in "if you are able" for that'.

Changing times or...?

For me it should have been part of the Olympics announcements too. Obviously there are proportionally more people in wheelchairs at a Paralympic games, but the message now is very much that inclusion shouldn't be limited to two weeks every 4 years. In my view, it should be said, because it reminds all the able-bodied people in the room that not everyone can stand (whether they're in a wheelchair or not).
The Last Leg is just starting on Channel 4 covering the Paralympics! :yep:
Poll has been added :woo:
I'm glued to the swimming this morning. :gah:

Been a solid day for Ukraine, the Russian Paralympic Committee and Italy so far in the pool. Brazil not doing too badly either. :yep:
Well at least the Paralympics are fully free-to-air, I just wish that All4 would let you watch back events that weren't screened on a linear channel. I've now had a very hard look  and it looks like the only catch-up coverage is watching back the C4 and More4 channel coverage, with no way of watching back any of their streams of individual events. That's not good if the event you want to watch wasn't shown on a linear channel (cough cough the early wheelchair rugby)!

Not ideal either for an event in so different a timezone!
