What is the best app to setup a group chat on?

So I'm thinking of setting up a group chat for my course (Games design at Sheffield Hallam) and I was wondering what would be the best app to setup a group chat on other than Discord. I do have a messenger and WhatsApp if those are best
Most people tend to set up either messenger or Whatsapp and they both do basically the same thing, though one requires Facebook and the other is phone numbers. You might find that a few on your course have already thought the same thing as you :wink:

On my course, my cohort had a messenger group but one person wasn't able to be a part of it because they didn't have Facebook and didn't want it. I then had other group chats on Whatsapp such as course rep groups and closer friendship groups.

Personally, Discord is my favourite and preferred method but still unknown by many.
