Good University in UK for Psychology Major

What's The Best University to Study Psychology that doesn't require 37-45 IB points?
Note that in the UK you do not "major" in things generally. The major terminology is specific to the US university model and broadly not applicable to the UK, outside of a few specific courses (e.g. natural sciences/liberal arts) where this is a feature of the course. It is sometimes used informally to refer to joint honours courses with an uneven split between the two subjects (e.g. 75% one subject 25% the other) but it doesn't mean the same thing as it does in the US. You would be studying for a psychology degree, not a degree with a psychology major. As such, you rarely take subjects outside of your main degree area in the UK.

Bath is probably one of the strongest courses that fits into the point range you are considering, requiring 36 in IB. It's a very strong psychology department in its own right so I'd definitely recommend exploring that option. KCL is also a very strong psychology department too and requires 35 points, and might be especially good if you're very interested in more scientific/biological approaches. UCL requires 36 points for contextual applicants (but 39 normally), so you if you meet the requirements to be considered as a contextual applicant that may be an option. Psychology is one of the stronger departments at Exeter, and they require just 36, so that may also be an option. Edinburgh requires 36-37 so could be an option, although they skew a bit more towards the cognitive science side of things specifically.

Hello @Lovelyz

Psychology at Liverpool Hope is one of our most popular subjects, with the number of applications increasing each year!

At Hope, we accept the IB diploma for entry to Higher Education.

Dependent on if you are doing the IB at a standard level or higher level, as you are aware, depends on the UCAS tariff points you will accumulate.

We would take into consideration your IB qualification alongside others to make a decision on enrollment.

You can find details of our Psychology course at undergraduate level here if this is of interest to you.

Have a lovely day!
