Application for MSc Meteorology at Reading 2021/22

Hello!

Nearly two months ago I submitted an application to study MSc Meteorology at Uni of Reading this year (2021/22). However I have yet to hear anything at all from them and I'm getting more and more frustrated each day waiting for a decision now as it is not long until the course start date. From the submission confirmation email I was expecting to hear something within 4 weeks or a 'little longer' so even allowing for this and the current situation 8 weeks is surely unreasonable, so I'm wondering if anyone here knows why they are being as slow as they are and has any suggestions? Is anyone else in the same situation at any uni? I've put more information below:

I emailed postgraduate admissions a week ago about my application progression and I've not had a response yet. I've also not had any communication since the initial submission and applicant portal emails from the uni with any information or updates, or issues/extra information they need (they said they would email me if there was anything and plus I regularly check my junk email) so my side of things must be fine. There isn't much on the applicant portal either, I'm not really able to track my application. The references were both submitted 10 days after my application was, and both referees said they had at the time.

I think it’s worth calling them and expressing all of the above to see where you stand. Unfortunately with these things at times you really need to chase it up through all avenues.

Thanks for the reply. I'll phone admissions up tomorrow morning and see what's going on. I could have done this a couple of weeks ago maybe but I didn't want to be seen as pushy by them as they are likely very busy - but yes I'm going to chase it up hard this week because if I'm successful I won't really have much time to sort accommodation out among other things.

Don’t worry about seeming pushy, remember they have tons of applicants.
You want to get on the course and secure your place then do all you can, remember your going to be paying for your place on the course so it’s not like they will be giving you a place for free.

Hey, If you have done your meteorology from UoR can you please share your experience here. I am joining UoR for same field this September. Thank you!
