Private halls compared to Glasgow uni halls?

I recently got an email from Glasgow uni accommodation saying all of their halls are full 3 weeks after I applied and 2 weeks before I'm moving to Glasgow...

I'm desperately trying to find private accommodation that isn't an absolute scam of my money and also isn't too far away which, in its self, is proving hard. I'm also concerned about socialising with people in uni halls as most freshers don't go private so there will be fewer opportunities to meet new people.

Does anyone know if there is a waiting list for uni halls? or the best way to find private student accommodation for freshers?

hi, someone i know is looking for a girl to take over her unused ensuite room at an all female flat at Student Roost's Buchanan View purpose built student accommodation. (very close to Glasgow Caledonian and Strathclyde unis and 15 mins by bike to Uni of Glasgow). Contact me asap on 07773773979 if interested.
