Question (6): describe a meethod to measure speed of waves on a string
Answer: stretcha a string from a oscillator to a node, hang weightts on it to make it tense. Adjust the osccillator to a certain hertz tso that clear waves are formed and visible on the string. Measure the distance between the two nodes, then find the wavelength by dividing the distance by the number of waves. Use the v = fv equation to find the wave speed.
You would lose marks on this for the following reasons

It's not clear how you are measuring the wavelength of the waves.
You mention measuring the 'distance between 2 nodes' and then 'dividing the distance by the number of waves'.
You would divide the length of the wire by the number of wavelengths.

Secondly - depending on how many nodes you have on the wire - the frequency you use in the calculation is not necessarily the frequency of the oscillator. That would only be the case if you have one antinode (fundamental frequency) on the string.
So to get full marks on this (without seeing the mark scheme) you would need to make these points much clearer.
